Another collaboration with Lucera, a friend of mine. We were quite busy, having to produce so many presents for Mother’s day, birthdays, etc. It’s astonishing how many images you can produce if you don’t want to spend money on presents.
This one was for the partner of Lucera’s mother who had this motive on his computer. We both really dislike this guy and we had planned not to put much effort into the picture but we ended up doing it anyway, as we liked the motive so much.
When we work together, Lucera usually starts from the bottom and I draw upside down from the top. I like this method because it keeps me from concentrating too much on shapes and objects. Whenever I try something new and difficult, I do that upside down first until I get a feeling for the lines, spaces and colours (if there are any). Then, with a little training, I can also draw these things in the normal way.

Media: carbon for the trees and the wolf, pastels for the rest
Format: Din A3
Created in April 2004

Heh that's cool(upside down huh ?nice.), I've always wanted to do collabs, especially lately.I just don't know anyone up for it. good work you two. are these chalk pastels ?
I don't know exaxtly @ chalk pastels. The German word for the medium we used is "Pastellkreide" which literally translated means pastel chalk. I didn't find a good translation in the dictionary, so I call them pastels, hoping that this is close enough. It's these things here. Are they called chalk pastels?
It's a lucky break that Lucera and me were on a similar "artistic" level when we started to work together. Maybe you can find someone on DA who lives close enough to you for a collab? Did you ever try?
